Özhan Özen

Özhan Özen holds a BSc degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Sabanci University, Istanbul. In 2017, he received his MSc degree in Robotics, Systems & Control from ETH Zurich, and did his MSc thesis on rehabilitation robotics. Since then, he continues his research as a Ph.D. Candidate in the Motor Learning and Neurorehabilitation Laboratory of ARTORG Center in the University of Bern, with Prof. Dr. Laura Marchal-Crespo. His research specializes in developing intelligent and adaptive robotic training strategies to enhance motor learning of healthy individuals and neurorehabilitation of stroke patients. For this purpose, he utilizes model predictive control and machine learning methods to make the robotic assistance adapt according to the movement and the performance of individuals in haptically rendered virtual training environments.
